Hi! I’m Yanyu Zhang, a current Staff Algorithm Engineer, SLAM at VisionNav Robotics USA Inc.. My research focuses on state estimation, LiDAR-Inertial odometry, Visual-Inertial odometry, sensor fusion, and simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM).

I defended my Ph.D. in Cooperative Vehicle Networks Laboratory (COVEN) at University of California, Riverside (UCR) Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Mar. 2025, advised by Dr. Wei Ren. Before I joined UCR, I received my M.S. from the Boston University (BU) Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2021 adviced by Dr. John Baillieul, and my B.S. at the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) Department of Electrical Engineering in 2019 adviced by Dr. Mahmood Al-Khassaweneh.
